The mission
of the Children's Galleries for Jewish Culture is to engage school age
children and accompanying adults in the exploration of history and culture
through interactive exhibitions for children and related educational programs.
CGJC is committed to:
- presenting history and culture
in non-threatening and inclusive ways, to benefit the diverse Jewish
community and the community at large
- fostering in children of
all backgrounds a positive and relevant attitude to Jewish heritage
- creating environments for
learning that are aesthetic, stimulating, enjoyable, visually engaging
and respectable
- drawing on the intellectual
and creative potential of children in developing age-appropriate exhibitions
and programs
- creating an experience of
learning through hands-on problem solving
- enhancing classroom education
- augmenting the work of other
educational and cultural institutions, and complementing existing resources
of the community.
